ACP Knight ... dismisses claims that the $1.5 million reward offered by the police for information leading to Perry’s capture is insufficient to convince persons to help the police.

The Commander of the Area Five Police, Assistant Commissioner Derrick Knight, says he believes persons in St Thomas are protecting one of Jamaica’s most wanted criminals, Marlon Perry alias 'Duppy Film'.

ACP Knight was speaking after a public meeting in Yallahs Square yesterday, days following joint police-military operations in St Thomas geared at capturing Perry and other wanted persons.

According to ACP Knight, Perry is still hiding in the parish.

But, he says the efforts to capture him are being hindered by residents who are protecting him.

ACP Knight also dismissed claims that the $1.5 million reward offered by the police for information leading to Perry’s capture is insufficient to convince persons to help the police.

He insisted that the real problem is that residents are withholding information because they have some kind of relationship with Perry.

He also said the police will not stop until Perry is caught and his gang dismantled.
