Bartlett to host seminar for newly appointed board directors under his portfolio
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett is to meet with the newly appointed members of several boards which fall under his portfolio today.
According to the ministry, Bartlett is hosting a seminar for the board of directors of the Tourism Enhancement Fund, Jamaica Tourist Board, Tourism Product Development Company, Devon House Development Company and Jamaica Vacations Limited.
“The newly appointed board members were carefully selected and I am positive that they are capable of guiding the agencies of the Ministry which all have a vital role to play in our efforts to enhance and diversify our tourism product and in ensuring that destination Jamaica achieves significant growth,” Minister Bartlett expressed.
The Minister added that “high on the agenda will be a presentation on corporate governance which will provide guidance for each board member on their respective roles and how best to execute their duties. I am confident that this dynamic group of qualified professionals will work together to ensure that the objectives of the respective agencies are met”.
The seminar will serve as an orientation session for the new board directors.
Minister Bartlett will also use the opportunity to outline his vision for the Ministry of Tourism and its agencies.
