The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA), in support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information's 2016 National Child Month initiative, presented $500,000 to the Ministry's Child Month activities.

With this sponsorship, the ministry will be able to extend several aspects of the programme to children outside the Corporate Area for the first time since its inception.

The cheque was presented at the Ministry of Education's head office by Director General of the JCAA Nari Williams-Singh to State Minister Floyd Green and chairman of the National Child Month Committee, Dr Pauline Mullings.

Williams-Singh said, "The JCAA's focus is not just skyward. People are our greatest and most valued resource, and the JCAA will continue to support initiatives which promote child welfare, uplift Jamaicans and promote a better Jamaica for current and future generations."

For Child Month 2016, the JCAA will host a celebration for the children and wards of its employees on the lawns of its headquarters at 4 Winchester Road in May.
