UPDATE: Public, JCF members donate blood for wounded policewoman

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says its members and other Jamaicans have been donating blood for the police corporal who was shot and injured in East Kingston Thursday morning.

Head of the JCF Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), Inspector Dahlia Garrick, says the policewoman who was shot six times remains in stable condition at hospital.

The CCU reports that the corporal was leaving home for work shortly after 6 o'clock this morning when she was surprised by two men travelling on a motorcycle.

The corporal, who is in her fifties, was shot by the pillion.
