The police are again on the hunt for the father of the slain three-year-old child from St James after he fled their custody Thursday afternoon.

The body of little Lashaunie Thomas, was found on Tuesday morning at Dump Up Beach in the parish.

The discovery was made shortly after her father, Roosevelt 'Timmy' Thomas, reportedly called the child’s mother and told her that he was going to kill the child.

Following an appeal to surrender, Thomas reported to the Barnett Street Police in the company of a pastor on Wednesday night.

However, a police source says Thomas escaped from the police station about 1 p.m. Thursday.

The source says police have been told he was last seen by residents in Mount Salem in the parish.
