Sombre mood at Commissioner's office as JCF members pay homage to colleagues

It was a sombre mood at the offices of the Commissioner of Police in St Andrew as JCF members gathered at a regular end-of-month prayer meeting.

Those in attendance held back their emotions as the gathering paid homage to their colleagues who have been slain and injured.

Members of the force were urged to stay the course and continue to work to make the country safer.

According to Detective Inspector Carol Chisholm-Terrell, director of lifestyle, gender affairs at the Police Federation, the police will not be daunted.

She says it is the job of the force to serve and protect.

The detective inspector says there will be no retreat or surrender.
