Cornwall Regional Hospital laboratory closed
The laboratory at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James has been temporarily closed.
The Board of Management of the Western Regional Health Authority says the closure is to facilitate repairs to the lab’s ventilation systems.
The authority says the closure will affect all out-patients previously scheduled for tests.
As a result, it says the Blood Donor unit has been relocated to the isolation building, which is located in the car park near to the Accident & Emergency Unit.
It says all blood donations will be handled at that facility.
The authority says the lab is scheduled to re-open on Friday, May 13, however, persons are asked to call ahead before arriving.
