Ryon Jones, Staff Reporter - DOHA:

Jamaica's Nickel Ashmeade, battling a terrible flu that made it difficult for him even to speak, finished a disappointing seventh in the men's 200 metres at the IAAF Doha Diamond League today.

Ashmeade clocked 20.31 seconds.

The world’s fastest man so far this year in the half lap event, American Ameer Webb, improved his personal best to 19.85 - a new meet record and world leading time.

Panamanian Alonso Edward ran a season best 20.06 to be placed second with local boy Femi Ogunode (20.10) third.
