District constable shot dead in St Elizabeth

A district constable was last night shot dead in St Elizabeth.

He has been identified as Lewis Robinson, who worked at the Santa Cruz Police Station.

According to head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, Superintendent Lanceford Salmon, Robinson was shot in the head while sitting in his white Toyota Camry outside a night club along the Lacovia main road.

The incident happened shortly after midnight.

Superintendent Salmon says Robinson died on the spot.

No motive has been established for the killing.
