The Manchester police are investigating a shooting incident which involved a group of alleged scammers last evening in the Caledonia Courts area.

According to Superintendent of Police Vendolyn Cameron-Powell, at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, a group of five alleged scammers were at a plaza at Caledonia Courts when gunmen appeared and opened fire, hitting all five. The men were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

According to the police, they are not wanted men, but are targets for gunmen.

Information of illegal activities that occur in the area at houses, bars and clubs have since surfaced. "It is really a cause for concern, but we can't do anything just now as it concerns these businesses because they have their licence to operate, " Cameron-Powell said.

Investigations into the matter are under way.
