Fifteen child care facilities for Wards of the State are to undergo extensive renovation on Labour Day.

The renovation is being led by the Child Development Agency (CDA) with assistance from the National Youth Service and the ScotiaFoundation.

Labour Day 2016 will be observed on Monday under the theme: ‘For Health’s Sake, Keep It Clean’.

Chief Executive Officer of the CDA Rosalee Gage-Grey says the Homestead Place of Safety, located in Stony Hill, St Andrew, will be the major project for the day.

However, she says CDA employees from all regional offices will team up with Scotia volunteers to carry out upgrading work at children’s homes islandwide.
