WESTERN BUREAU:
Hours after one of their own was murdered, residents of the Salt Spring, St James community on Sunday afternoon turned out in large numbers for a previously planned peace march.

Led by the Peace Management Initiative, members of several churches, political representatives, police personnel, and representatives of the National Security Ministry, the residents demanded an end to the bloodletting.

They had woken up to news that 23-year-old labourer, Michael Anthony Rosegreen, also known as ‘Zeeks’ of Cottage Road in the district had become the 15th person in Salt Spring to be murdered since the start of the year.

Rosegreen was shot dead around 10:30 a.m Sunday morning by unknown assailants.
