Entities urged to improve date collection, research
Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Karl Samuda is urging newly appointed board members of agencies under the ministry to improve data collection and research to guide their decision-making.
"This data will help the entities identify areas that are growing and areas that need improvement," he said. Minister Samuda was addressing board members of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), Micro Investment Development Agency, and the Self Start Fund, at the JBDC's Camp Road headquarters recently. He noted that a structured data programme will better assist the entities in carrying out their mandate for the development of micro, small and medium-size enterprises in Jamaica. He encouraged them to ensure that decisions taken will result in growth of the sector.
