Labour Day message: A healthy environment is vital for Jamaica’s development - Simpson Miller

Leader of the Opposition Portia Simpson Miller says Jamaicans should let Labour Day this year be a time of new resolve to continue doing everything to build families, communities and the nation.

In her Labour Day message, Leader of the Opposition, Portia Simpson Miller encouraged Jamaicans to play their part in improving the country’s environment.

Noting this year’s theme of ‘For Health’s Sake, Keep it Clean, Simpson Miller underscored that when living spaces and surroundings encourage unhealthy agents such as mosquitoes, there is great danger to health and safety, especially for vulnerable groups.

She emphasised that a healthy environment is vital for the development of Jamaica in sustainable ways.

The opposition leader says Jamaicans should let Labour Day this year be a time of new resolve to continue doing everything to build families, communities and the nation.
