Motorists who use the new North-South link of Highway 2000 will continue benefiting from reduced toll fees, as the discount has been extended for a second time.

The discount was scheduled to expire two days ago, but Transport Minister Mike Henry says he is still negotiating with stakeholders to decide on appropriate toll fees.

However, he hasn't given a new deadline for the expiration of discounted fees.

The reduced toll fees were first announced in March after public outcry caused Prime Minister Andrew Holness to secure a 25 per cent discount on the proposed toll rates.

Some of the proposed rates would see motorists paying as high as $3,700 for a one-way trip on the thoroughfare.
