Work started for fixed election dates - Holness

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the work has started to introduce a system of fixed election dates in Jamaica.

Holness, making his contribution to the Budget Debate in Parliament says he had instructed the Justice Minister to undertake the necessary work.

And, according to Holness, the minister has so far produced a green paper for fixed election dates and it should be tabled in Parliament soon.

In the lead up to the February 25 General Election, Holness had said in the first 100 days of his government, it would start the process to legislate fixed election dates in Jamaica.
