The power company says the power outages occurred because poles were displaced by flooding, landslides and fallen trees that came in contact with the power lines.

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) says it has restored power to more than half of the 6,600 customers who experienced power outages last night.

The JPS says majority of the affected customers were from St Thomas, St Ann, Kingston and St Andrew.

The power company says the power outages occurred because poles were displaced by flooding, landslides and fallen trees that came in contact with the power lines.

The JPS is urging customers to contact its Customer Care team via text messages and telephone to make reports.
