Fire at Wisynco warehouse still burning

The massive fire at Wisynco's Lakes Pen, St Catherine warehouse yesterday.

The Jamaica fire Brigade has confirmed that the fire at Wisynco's Lakes Pen warehouse in St Catherine is still burning.

Public Relations Officer at the Jamaica Fire Brigade told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that three fire units are currently at the location trying to put out the fire which started yesterday evening.

Ebanks confirmed that no other building on the property was damaged by the fire that destroyed a 260,000-foot warehouse which was a storage facility for Wisynco beverages.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and estimates of the damage have not been revealed.

There were no reports of injuries.

Yesterday, Francois Challifour, Wisynco’s director of marketing said the incident would not affect Wisynco's production.
