Police federation reiterates advocacy for transportation system

Jamaica Police Federation (JPF) has used the death of the Corporal Judith Williams to again advocate for the urgent implementation of a transportation system for police personnel.

Speaking on behalf of the JPF, Corporal Arlean McBean commended former Minister of National Security Peter Bunting and the current minister, Robert Montague, for prioritising the concerns but suggested that the matter needs to be given even greater urgency.

Referencing the killing of Constable Crystal Thomas, who was shot and killed by gunmen attempting to rob passengers on a public passenger bus in July last year, on Spanish Town Road in Kingston, Corporal McBean said the system was needed especially to protect the female rank and file members of the police force.
