Traffic signal changes for Half-Way Tree Road and Oxford Road intersection come tomorrow

Published:Monday | May 30, 2016 | 5:44 PM

The National Works Agency (NWA) says effective tomorrow it will be implementing changes to the traffic flow at the intersection of Half-Way Tree Road and Oxford Road in St Andrew.

NWA says these changes are aimed at improving and streamlining pedestrian and vehicular movement at the intersection.

As of tomorrow, the following will obtain:

1. The middle through lane on Half-Way Tree Road will be modified to accommodate a right turn lane only. This will allow for two exclusive right turn lanes onto Oxford Road

2. The FLOW entrance/exit will be controlled by traffic signals. Persons leaving and entering the FLOW premises must therefore obey the signals.

3. Persons making a left turn from Half-Way Tree Road onto Oxford Road must yield to Pedestrians using the pedestrian crossing and motorists making a right turn onto Oxford Rd.

Motorists are advised to obey all the new markings, especially those delineating the lanes.
