Mother's strikes again with the curry goat patty
When Mother's decided to make the pork patty, needless to say, it raised a few eyebrows.
Those eyebrows have arched a bit higher as the company now has curry goat patties. Karma-Gaye Williams, local area marketer, at Mother's, said the company did a tasting in Half-Way -Tree on April 29, to introduce the product in stores.
There were also tastings in May Pen, Ocho Rios and Downtown Kingston.
"We have to say thanks to our production team for the work they put in daily to making sure that the patties are ready to ship to our 17 locations islandwide," she said.
"They have ensured that each patty is as it should be, exceptional. All our employees play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of each new product we put on the market." Williams said sales for pork were better than anticipated.
"We didn't have hands to sell the patties. Even now people are still asking for the pork patty," she said. "But we want the public to get used to our introduction of the premium patties and the different ones we have to offer." Williams said the public was still a bit shocked by the curry goat patty.
"But knowing that we at Mother's are innovators in the patty business, anything is possible," she said.
"A lot of customers are amazed by product.
We put great time and effort in ensuring that the product tastes exactly like what it is. You will definitely get chunks of meat in eat bite.
Once the customers tried it they were just in awe at how great it tastes."
Like the pork patties, the curry goat patties will be seasonal, available until November.
After that, Williams said the pork patty will return. So what patty are they coming with next? Williams said they have been getting various suggestions.
"We have heard from a few customers that they are expecting the oxtail patty, cow foot patty," she laughed. "But we do ask the public to stay tuned to our Facebook page @MothersJamaica and our Instagram page @MothersJamaica for what's to come. You will be pleasantly surprised as always at our new releases to come.
Remember we are the innovators so expected the unexpected from 'the great Jamaican patty company'."
