There are more than 24,000 more electors on the latest voters’ list published by the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) compared to the November 2015 list.

A release by the ECJ shows that more than 26,000 people have been added to the May list, while more than 1,600 people were removed.

The list now has 1,849,012 voters.

The ECJ says there are two constituencies which are in breach of the established 19,566 lower limit.

They are St Andrew North Eastern with 19,347 voters and Trelawny Southern with 19,536.

The Commission says the recently submitted boundaries review to Parliament is aimed at correcting the breaches.

Meanwhile, Westmoreland Central is close to having too many electors registered in the constituency.

It has 42,533 electors and the upper limit is 44,002.

Elector Registration Identification Cards for new electors are expected by the end of this month.
