Prime Minister says Jamaica must increase food exports
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaica must increase its food exports in order to realise significant growth within the local economy.
Holness says Jamaican businesses cannot expand by supplying the local market only.
He was speaking at a Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Capacity Building Projects Export Forum yesterday.
The EPA is part of the government's growth agenda and is a joint effort of the Planning Institute of Jamaica and the European Union which seeks to increase the presence of Jamaican food exports in the region and in markets of the EU.
The EPA was signed between the EU, CARICOM and the Dominican Republic in 2008.
