Sports Minister pays tribute to boxing legend Ali

Sports Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange says boxing legend Muhammad Ali was never afraid to challenge the political establishment.

Jamaica's Sports Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange says boxing legend Muhammad Ali was never afraid to challenge the political establishment and will remain an inspiration for generations to come.

Noting that Ali was undaunted by the racial segregation across sections of the United States, Grange says the three-time heavyweight champion fought for his people and not for himself.

Ali, who was born Cassius Clay before converting to Islam, died last night at the age of 74.

Grange urged everyone to celebrate his life.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller says Ali lived a life or purpose and conviction and will forever be an inspiration to the world.
