In this file photo, a workman observes a section of the North-South Highway where a part of the surrounding hillside gave way.

Managing Director of the National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC), Ivan Anderson, says further slippage is likely to occur along sections of the North-South highway.

However, he notes that motorists are not expected to be harmed if this happens.

Anderson says developers are working to strengthen other embankments along the toll road.

Last week's landslide blocked the lanes leading to Kingston causing developers to use one of the north bound lanes to accommodate traffic heading towards the capital.

Anderson says the developers are working to fully reopen the blocked section of the roadway by the end of this week.
