The Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith has expressed condolences to the Government and people of the United States following the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida on Sunday morning that left 49 people dead in addition to the shooter.

Johnson Smith says Jamaicans in the Diaspora remain in constant communication with the Jamaican Consulate in Miami, as it tries to account for all countrymen.

Consul General for Jamaica to Miami Franz Hall says his office hasn't received any information indicating that Jamaicans were affected by the shooting in which fifty people were killed.

Hall says the Consulate has been in touch with several Jamaican community leaders in Orlando and has also requested the City’s assistance in identifying Jamaicans who may have been affected by the tragedy.
