Four men shot dead in alleged police shoot-out in Old Harbour Bay, residents angered

The director of communication with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay says illegal three weapons were recovered.

The police are reporting that they have now restored calm to sections of Old Habour Bay, St Catherine following a flare-up in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of four men in an alleged shootout around 3 o'clock this afternoon.

The director of communication with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay said three illegal weapons were recovered.

She said the incident apparently angered residents who converged and blocked the roads.

The residents also set fire to a vehicle that was on the scene.

Residents said the men who were known to them and were actually working in the area.

The shooting is reported to have happened inside a building.
