Diahann Gordon Harrison says the verdict gives her office a sound basis to determine the most appropriate course of action.

The Office of the Children’s Advocate (OCA), which investigated Vanessa Wint’s death and referred the case to the Coroner’s Court, has indicated that it is satisfied with the verdict.

Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison says the verdict gives her office a sound basis to determine the most appropriate course of action.

Gordon Harrison says her office does not see the jury’s decision as a victory.

Instead, she says it’s recognition that there is value to having independent monitoring authorities which fearlessly seek to protect the rights of children.
