Two men remain in hospital nursing injuries arising from a violent altercation on the compound of the St Andrew High School for Girls last night.

The police say one man was shot while the other was stabbed.

Their names have not been released.

The police say the incident happened about 9 o’clock following a  function at the school but did not reveal further details saying they were still gathering information.

Meanwhile, Principal of St Andrew High School for Girls, Sharon Reid, says the incident happened sometime after a celebratory school-leaving event for grade 13 students.

Reid says there are indications that the altercation stemmed from a domestic dispute involving a parent and a teacher who were guests at the ceremony.

However, she says the incident has not affected classes.
