The driver of the ill-fated Honda Civic that crashed into a truck along the Laughlands main road in St Ann on Tuesday night has succumbed to his injuries, bringing to four the number of casualties.

The St Ann police say 21-year-old Michael Glascow of Village Green, St Ann's Bay, the driver of the car, died in hospital on Wednesday.

The other deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Eric Forbes of Steerfield, St Ann, 24-year-old Jahnor Powell of Charlestown, St Mary and Teisha Douglas, whose address has not been ascertained.

Two other persons remain hospitalised.

The six were travelling along the Laughlands Main Road on their way from work at the Gran Bahia Principe Hotel when Glascow lost control of his Honda Civic and crashed into a truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The impact the sent Glascow's car into another that was waiting to enter the main thoroughfare.

Police say so far investigations suggest Glascow was at fault and no charges are pending against the truck driver.
