Farmers of the Plantain Garden River Agro-Park in St Thomas affected by the recent heavy rains are now anxious for promised help from the Government.

Over the weekend, Minister without Portfolio in the Agriculture Ministry, J.C. Hutchinson toured the various farms and promised help for the farmers.

President of the Plantain Garden River Agro-Park, Patrick Solomon says the farmers have been faced with many problems including a long-standing debt with their credit union, an issue he says was raised in the meeting with the minister.

Farmers were also promised seeds and seedlings and help to repair the tractor used for land preparation at the agro park.
