State Minister in the Ministry Finance and the Public Service, Rudyard Spencer, has indicated that the government is still negotiating with a small number of public sector groups that have not signed a wage deal for the 2015-2016 financial year.

During his contribution to the Sectoral Debate yesterday, Spencer said 97 per cent of the public sector groups have inked the deal.

Under the deal, workers are entitled to a four per cent wage increase in year one and a three per cent increase in year two.

Spencer said efforts are ongoing to reach an agreement with the outstanding three per cent of public sector workers.
