Police probing reports Alpha student injured as cops opened fire on illegal taxi

Motorists drive past a police yellow tape at the intersection of North Street and Mark Lane where a student of the Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha) was shot in an illegal taxi about 7:00 a.m. today.

Senior police investigators are now probing reports that a student of the Corporate Area based, Convent of Mercy Academy (Alpha), is now in hospital after the robot taxi in which she was travelling was shot up by cops this morning.

It is reported that the student was travelling in the illegal taxi with other students when members of a police team opened fire on the vehicle.

The student, who was hit, is now in hospital.

A second student reportedly turned up at the institution this morning with blood stains on her uniform.

Alpha is said to be arranging counseling for the students.
