Police carrying out an investigation in New Ramble community of Bogue, St James after eight people were shot in a drive-by shooting on Friday night.

The number of persons killed in last night’s shooting rampage in New Ramble, St James now stands at three.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) says a total of nine persons were shot.

Those killed have been identified as 16-year-old Adrian Thelwell, 27-year-old Nicholas Campbell, both of New Ramble addresses, and 28-year-old Troy Scoville of a St James address.

CCU says a teenager is among the six persons still hospitalised in serious, but stable condition.

According to police reports, the nine were at a shop in the community when a Toyota Corolla motorcar approached.

The police say four men alighted from the car and opened fire on patrons.

Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams is expected to provide an update during a press conference scheduled to take place at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay this afternoon.
