Gunman killed in Manchester was out on bail - police
The police say a gunman who was shot and killed by cops in Manchester early yesterday morning was out on bail in relation to a gun charge.
He is identified as 25-year-old Shane Johnson, who has been out on bail for the past month for Breaches of the firearm Act.
Johnson was among three other men who allegedly opened fire on individuals leaving a party in the Alligator Pond area.
The police say these men then fled to the Georges Valley area where they lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a wall.
The police say they trailed the men based on intelligence they received and were fired at.
They say they returned the fire hitting Johnson who died on the spot.
The matter is being investigated by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
