Chang: More embarrassing cases of mismanagement revealed in HAJ audit report
On the heels of the firing of five senior managers from the Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ), Minister with responsibility for housing, Dr Horace Chang, says audit reports show some embarrassing cases of mismanagement at the agency.
The HAJ, which was established to provide low-income housing solutions for Jamaicans, has reported losses of over $2 billion over the past three years.
During his contribution to the Sectoral Debate yesterday, Chang sought to give examples of the alleged mismanagement.
He revealed that the chief engineer of the housing agency was also hired to the Royalton project in Negril, Hanover, as a fulltime project engineer and this was irregular.
Chang said the audit reports on the HAJ will be made available so the public can see what has been taking place at the agency.
