Transport Minister Mike Henry wants police to re-establish a security post at the Spanish Town Bus Park in St Catherine.

The Transport Minister Mike Henry wants the police to re-establish a security post at the Spanish Town Bus Park in St Catherine following yesterday's murder of a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) employee at the location.

Thirty-five-year-old Donavon Nugent was shot dead while sitting at the park in the company of his child and a female companion.

It’s reported that a gunman walked up and shot Nugent several times killing him on the spot.

The bus park is known as a hotbed for gang warfare.

The Transport Minister says the attack sends a strong signal that lawlessness must be stopped before the situation gets worse.

He also says he has instructed the management of the JUTC to provide counseling to employees, and to support to the immediate family of Nugent.
