The Government has announced plans to resume the maintenance programme for all heritage sites belonging to the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT).

Culture Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange says the Seville Great House in St Ann will be the first site targeted.

Speaking yesterday at the Media Launch of Emancipation Jubilee 2016, Grange said the Seville Great House is currently in need of repairs due to lack of maintenance in recent years.

She says in addition to renovating the physical structure, extensive work will be done to develop the site and to promote Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage.

Grange says the plan is to have the Seville Great House positioned at the centre of cultural activities in St Ann.
