PNP nominations open tomorrow
The People’s National Party (PNP) will tomorrow begin accepting nominations for some of its top jobs with clear indications that some who have held these posts over several years will be challenged.
PNP General Secretary Paul Burke says the nomination period will close in one week.
Burke refused to be drawn into speculation about who might be nominated even though it is widely expected that PNP president Portia Simpson Miller will be challenged by Peter Bunting while sitting vice-presidents Angela Brown Burke, Dr Fenton Ferguson and Noel Arscott should to be joined by Lisa Hanna and Dr Wykeham McNeill on the ballot for the four posts.
To be nominated, candidates must be fully paid up PNP members and must be endorsed by 10 fully paid up party members.
