At least 70 people killed in French attack as truck ploughs into crowd

In this video grab taken Thursday July 14, 2016, a policeman chase people out of the cordoned-off area after a truck drove on to the sidewalk and plowed through a crowd of revelers.

At least 70 people have been killed in an attack on Bastille Day revellers in Nice, France when a cargo truck ploughed into large crowds.

The truck, travelling at high speed, ran into the gathering at the Promenade des Anglais for about two kilometres just after a fireworks display.

He reportedly opened fire before driving into the crowd.

Photos in the foreign media show a white truck with bullet holes in its windshield surrounded by armoured police officers.

It is reported that the driver who was killed by police.

There are also reports that the truck was also loaded with firearms and explosives including grenades.
