Traffic Division head saddened, concerned for families affected by road fatalities
Head of the Highway and Traffic Division, Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, says he is concerned for the families who are impacted by the spate of road fatalities.
The Road Safety Unit in the Ministry of Transport yesterday reported that 14 people were killed on Jamaican roads in just six days.
This increased the number of road fatalities to 214 since the start of the year.
Speaking with The Gleaner/Power106 News Centre, SSP Allen said he is especially hurt by some of the deaths which have happened.
He pointed to Saturday’s collision which led to the death of Dr Megan Auden who he describes as a promising young professional.
