PM deeply concerned about road fatalities

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has urged all road users to take special care as they use the country’s thoroughfares.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he’s deeply concerned about the number of fatalities on the nation’s roads.

More than 218 people have been killed in crashes so far.

Eighteen of those deaths occurred in the past two weeks.

In a video message to Jamaicans, Prime Minister Holness urged all road users to take special care as they use the country’s thoroughfares.

The prime minister, who also chairs the National Road Safety Council, emphasises that Jamaicans must play their part in reducing road crashes and fatalities.
