Portmore Chorale set to close 2016 summer concert season

The Portmore Chorale, conducted by Delroy Williams and accompanied by Denise Williams on piano, will present the final two of the four concerts in its 2016 Summer Concert Season today at Riverside United Church, Kingsvale, Hanover, and next Sunday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Portmore, St Catherine.

The concerts, dubbed 'A Marvellous Encounter', will feature guest performers and the Reverend Paul Pinto as assistant conductor.

The repertoire of the Portmore Chorale is wide and varied to include classical, sacred, contemporary gospel, Negro spiritual, folk and revival music.

The interdenominational group has been in existence for more than 30 years and has a current membership of about 30.

The chorale has performed at church services, concerts, civic and cultural events across Jamaica, and has also performed in Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad, and the United States of America.
