Bureau of Standards to discuss motor vehicle standards at stakeholder meeting
Amid the rising number of fatalities resulting from motor vehicle crashes on the country's roadways, the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) has announced it will host a stakeholder meeting on Wednesday to discuss the development of standards for motor vehicles.
The stakeholder meeting will be held at the BSJ's head office in St Andrew.
The BSJ says standards for motor vehicles will help to reduce road fatalities, which have risen to 221 since the start of the year.
Westmoreland, St Catherine and St Ann account for most of the road fatalities.
The police have stated that defective vehicular parts have contributed to a number of the road accidents across the island.
