The mother and step father of three-year-old, Nevalisia Campbell,  the three-year-old St Ann girl who was murdered in Brown's Town earlier this month, are to return to court on October 6 on child neglect charges.

They were each granted bail in the sum of $250,000 when they appeared in the St Ann Parish Court yesterday.

The body of little Nevalisia was found with chop wounds in bushes on the morning of Sunday, July 10 hours after she was reported missing by her mother.

Her 24-year-old mother had reported to the police that the child was abducted from their home sometime after she placed her and her twin bother to bed.

But investigations later revealed that the woman had left the children at home alone while she went to a party.

The woman and her common law husband were subsequently arrested and charged.
