Traffic changes for Half-Way Tree tomorrow - 'Jamaica Pray' staging

The Jamaica Umbrella Group of Churches’ ‘Jamaica Pray’ will be held in the Half-Way Tree Square on Sunday, from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. The staging of this event will result in traffic interruptions and diversions.

Members of the public are being advised to take note of the following traffic plan:

BEFORE THE EVENT
The following roads will be closed:
At 6 a.m.
Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of South Odeon Avenue -
There will be no access beyond the Constant Spring Road/South Avenue/Suthermere Road intersection.

At 1 p.m.
- Constant Spring Road and Courtney Walsh Drive
- South Odeon Avenue and Eastwood Park Road
- Suthermere Road and Hope Road
- Spencer James and Hope Road
- North Odeon and Eastwood Park Road

TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS
As a result of the above closures traffic flow will be diverted as follows:

Traffic flowing easterly along Constant Spring Road will be diverted to South Avenue on to Waterloo Road then on to Hope Road.

Traffic wishing to access Hope Road via South Odeon Avenue and Suthermere Road will utilise Eastwood Park Road, Constant Spring Road, South Avenue, Waterloo Road and Hope Road.

JUTC buses will be able to access the upper floor of the transport centre until 1 p.m. It is to be noted though that they will only be allowed access to Suthermere Road upon exiting the centre. After 1 p.m. only the lower floor will be accessible from Eastwood Park Road.

JUTC buses wishing to access the transport centre from Constant Spring Road will be diverted to Harrison Place, Burlington Avenue, Upper Sandringham Avenue, on to Molynes Road, Eastwood Park Road and into the Centre.

NB. Traffic flowing southerly along Hope Road will not be affected.

PARKING

VIP
Parking for VIPs will be facilitated at the St Andrew High School for Girls to be accessed from Hope Road.

REGULAR PARKING
Parking for persons attending the event will be provided at UDC Car Park, South Odeon Avenue and at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (Holy Childhood High School).

SHUTTLE SERVICE
A shuttle service will be provided from the St Andrew High School for Girls to the event.

DURING THE EVENT
Road closures will remain in place during the event.

AFTER THE EVENT
Immediately after the event plans will be in place to return the following areas to a state of normalcy as quickly as possible:
Suthermere Road and Hope Road
Hope Road and Winchester Road
Hope Road and Trafalgar/Waterloo Road
Hope Road and Constant Spring Road.
