The National Water Commission (NWC) says it will continue supplying water across the island despite the inclement weather.

Corporate public relations manager at the NWC, Charles Buchanan, says water systems will be in operation unless they are affected by debris, broken mains or lack of power supply.

However, Buchanan says people are being asked to store water as the NWC's systems are likely to be affected during the passage of a storm.

Buchanan says the NWC is assuring customers that it has protocols in place to test water systems after the storm to ensure that water supplied to homes are safe for use.
