UPDATE: Three men dead after being trapped in St Catherine cave

The bodies of three men who were trapped in a cave in the Salt Pond area of St. Catherine have been found.

They are: 48-year-old fisherman, Richard King, 31-year-old farmer, Alfred Succan and 36-year-old farmer, McGray Sergeon all of a Dunbeholden address in St. Catherine.

The bodies were retrieved about 4 p.m. on Tuesday during an operation by the St. Catherine South Police, who were assisted by the Waterford Fire Department and residents of the Salt Pond community.

it is reported that about 10:00 a.m., yesterday, four men were extracting water from the cave to a nearby farm when they got into difficulties.

One managed to escape and was taken to hospital where he is being treated.

The Police were then alerted and a rescue operation launched.
