The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister Elaine Foster Allen is to be reassigned to the Ministry of Health.

Foster Allen will replace Dr Kevin Harvey as Permanent Secretary.

Harvey, who is currently on leave is to demit office.

A senior government insider says Foster Allen's time at the ministry will be short as she is expected to go into retirement in another two months.

The source says she will be helping with the transitioning process at the health ministry.

The source says permanent secretary in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Audrey Sewell, will be assigned to the vacant post left at the Office of the Prime Minister by Foster Allen.

Meanwhile, a new permanent secretary is to be assigned to the Ministry of National Security.

On July 5, The Gleaner reported that Major General Stewart Saunders would be demitting office.

The former Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Chief of Defence Staff was appointed Permanent Secretary in July 2013.

He spent his last day on Friday with Chief technical Director Karen Davis Clarke taking over temporarily.

It's understood that Dianne McIntosh, a one-time Permanent Secretary at the National Security  Ministry who was reassigned to the Finance Ministry could be returning.

Efforts to get a comment from Information Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, were unsuccessful.
