NWA to begin assessment of damage caused by Tropical Storm Earl

The National Works Agency (NWA) says it hopes to quickly complete its assessment of the damage caused by rains associated with Tropical Storm Earl.

Communications and customer services manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the various parishes will be doing their assessments of repairs needed and the cost.

He says the exercise should not take long as preliminary information indicates the impact on infrastructure was not significant.

Shaw also says the agency does not expect to have any challenges in areas which were flooded yesterday, as the waters should recede as soon as the rain stops.

Meanwhile, Shaw says the Agency will continue to monitor problem areas, in case of landslides.
